Shout-Outs and a Guest Post

I’m Guest Posting today at Homestead Host.  The fabulous Erin has asked me to do a regular Monday post there.  Today I’m sharing my thoughts on how to Transition to Real Food in 8 Easy Steps.  These are essentially the things my family did to make our gradual change from a Standard American Diet (SAD) to a mostly Real Foods diet.

 

My friend and almost neighbor (we both live and Wyoming and when there are only 500,000 people in the state, we are all neighbors!) Do you use whey in your vegetable ferments? Take a look at this article from Jessica at Delicious Obsessions. It provides a compelling argument for NOT using whey.  I do use whey in my vegetable ferments with no issues but this article really makes me think. I might try some no-whey kraut and see how it turns out.

 

Mmmmmm. Bourbon Chicken from KerryAnn at Cooking Traditional Foods looks soooo good. I have just one package of chicken breasts left from our home-grown chickens and it is going to be used for this Bourbon Chicken.  After that, we’ll be having Bourbon Antelope :-) . I suspect that will be pretty good also.

Chef Nancy offers some great tips on menu planning, using leftovers and getting traditional meals on the table.
